Yanghee Lee to visit Bhashan Char today

The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar Yanghee Lee will visit Bhashan Char, an island in Noakhali, today (Thursday), reports UNB.

The Bangladesh government has been developing the island to relocate Rohingyas there from Teknaf.

Lee, who is currently conducting an official visit to Bangladesh, incorporated the visit to the island with the approval of the government, according to a message UNB received from Geneva.
