Buriganga boat capsize kills 3 of a family

Three members of a family died and a minor went missing as a boat capsized in the Buriganga river on Friday night, reports UNB.

The deceased are Motiur Rahman Moti, 55, his wife Rozina Begum, 42, and Momtaz Begum, 50.

Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat police station, said the boat, carrying four members of a family, sank in the river after being hit by a launch, 'MV-Manik', around 10:30pm, leaving them missing.

The bodies of Rozina and Momtaz were retrieved from the river around midnight while that of Moti around 9:00am on Saturday, the OC said.

Moti's son Abid, 5, remained missing till filing the report about 11:11am.
