Mob kills two ‘robbers’ in Gazipur

Two suspected robbers were killed in a lynch-mob attack at Rathura village in Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur early Wednesday, reports UNB.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

A group of robbers numbering 10-12 swooped on the house of one Majnu Mia in the dead of night, said Abdul Quader, chairman of Nagori Union Parishad.

Sensing danger, the inmates of the house raised alarm seeking help, he said.

Local people later chased down two of them while the others managed to flee the scene.

The angry mob then beat the ‘robbers’ to death on the spot.

On Information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital morgue, said Abu Bakar, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj police station.
