12 teachers relieved of SSC exam centre duty

At least 12 teachers including examination hall secretaries were taken out of their duties at different examination halls of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in Madaripur and Chandpur districts on Sunday, reports UNB.

In Madaripur, a total of six teachers including examination hall secretary were relieved of their duties at Khaserhat Soyad Abul Hossain School and College centre in Kalkini upazila, said deputy commissioners office.

Earlier on Saturday, the SSC examinees demonstrated against the teachers accusing them of mismanagement in question paper distribution and demanding justice.

The protesting students also blocked the Kalkini-Khaserhat Road at Kalkini area for an hour.

In Chandpur, at Haziganj Rampur High School the centre secretary was served with show cause notice and at Haziganj Pilot Girls High School six teachers were relieved from their duties at examination halls, said Haziganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Boishakhi Barua.

Besides, another two teachers of Haziganj Darul Ulum Ahmadia Kamil Madrasa were transferred in this regard.

Earlier on Saturday, gross mismanagement marred the first day of this year's SSC and equivalent examinations, as candidates at various centres across the country were given the wrong question papers.
This year's SSC examinations commenced with the Bangla first paper starting at 10:00am.
