Teacher detained for ‘sexually assaulting’ office assistant

Police detained the headmaster of a high school in Fatullah early Tuesday over the allegation of sexually assaulting a class 4 employee, reports UNB.

The detainee is Ahsan Habib, headmaster of Dapa Ideal High School.

Fatullah police station inspector Majibur Rahman said the office assistant of the school filed a complaint with them that the headmaster sexually assaulted him.

He said the headmaster lodged another complaint against five people, including Sirajul Islam, alleging that they demanded Tk 500,000 from him after kidnaping him.

Habib mentioned in the complaint that Siraj picked him up, took him to Dhaka and beat him. He also made the headmaster sign a blank paper.

Later, a team of police conducted a drive at the school in the early hours, detained the headmaster and took him to the police station, he said.

Police also seized the CCTV footage of the headmaster's office.

President of the school managing committee Mostafa Kamal claimed that Siraj staged the drama after failing to be the president of the committee.
