33rd FOBANA convention starts 30 Aug

The 33rd Convention of the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA) is going to be held from 30 August to 1 September in New York, reports UNB.

"The three-day programme will be arranged at newly-built postmodern indoor arena Nassau Coliseum in Long Island," FOBANA Convention-2019 Convener Nargis Ahmed told the media at Jatiya Press Club on Saturday.

Entrepreneurs, politicians, opinion makers, media professionals, cultural activists, government officials, and artistes are expected to attend.

Hosted by Drama Circle New York, the convention's theme is 'Our children our pride'. Nargis said there will be at least eight scheduled events in the convention.

"Different US Chambers and a large number of US firms' high officials, business personalities from Bangladesh and nonresident Bangladeshis from various countries will hopefully attend business session. The event's partner is Business America Magazine," she said.

She expected that a good relation will be forged between world business communities and Bangladeshi people through the convention.

Atiquer Rahman, president of Bangladesh-American Chamber of Commerce Florida, ZI Russel, former convener of FOBANA, Rabiul Karim Belal, chairman of Bangladesh Liaison Standing Committee, Enamul Haque Enam, co-chairman of Business and Investment Standing Committee, Zaynul Abedin, ex-chairman of FOBANA, Kobir Kiron, executive member of FOBANA, Helena Jahangir, co-chairman of BLSC, and Muhammed Anisul Kabir Jasir, co-chairman of Goodwill And Promotion Standing Committee, were present at media briefing.
