High-rise building catches fire near Dhaka New Market

A fire broke out at a high-rise building of Biswas Builders near the New Market in the capital city on Friday night, reports UNB.

The fire ensued at the 2nd floor of the 22-strorey building around 10:50pm, said Md. Azad, an operator at the fire service and civil defence control room.

On information, seven firefighting units rushed to spot and doused the fire around 11:58pm, he added.

However, no casualty was reported, he said adding that the reason behind the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
