AL leader expelled for backing principal accused of abusing Nusrat

Awami League on Thursday expelled its general secretary of Kazirbag union unit and union parishad chairman Kazi Bulbul Sohag for assisting madrasa principal Sirajuddoula in a case filed for sexually assaulting Nusrat Jahan Rafi, reports UNB.

Awami League president of Feni district unit Abdur Rahaman said Bulbul, who is also a lawyer, stood for key accused principal Sirajuddoula of Sonagazi Senior Fazil Madrasa in the case.

Following the directive of the party's central committee Bulbul was expelled for violating party's rules, he said.

After fighting for her life for five days, madrasa girl Nusrat succumbed to her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday night.
