Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Friday said the law enforcement have already come to know the motive behind the murder of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi and also the identity of those involved in the incident, reports UNB.

“The Nusrat murder case has almost been cracked as police have the details of the incident, including the motive behind the killing and those involved. The police will disclose the details shortly,” he said.

The minister was talking to newsmen after attending a programme to handover five vehicles to the police by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) in Uttara of the capital city in the evening.

He said all of those who were included in the First Information Report (FIR) of the case and others whose names were revealed by the accused during their confessional statements before the court under Section 164 of the penal code, have already been arrested.

Asaduzzaman assured that if negligence of any policeman was found in connection with the incident, he would be brought to justice.

Nusrat Jahan Rafi, a student of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa in Sonagazi upazila of Feni, was set afire on 6 April allegedly for refusing to withdraw a case filed against the madrasa’s principal Siraj Ud Doula for sexually harassing her last month.

After fighting for her life for five days, the madrasa girl died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on 10 April.
