Youth held for ‘raping’ third grader

Police early Tuesday arrested a young man on allegation of raping a minor girl in Joybhoga Madhyapara village in Bogura’s Gabtali upazila on 19 April, reports UNB.

The arrested is Uzzal Mia, 30, son of a certain Rafiqul Islam of the village.

The arrest was made after a case was filed on Monday in connection with the incident, said Gabtali police station officer-in-charge Md Zakir Hossain.

As per the case statement, Uzzal took the victim to an under-construction building in the area on 19 April and raped her there.

Victim's family members found her there but Uzzal managed to flee the scene.

The victim alleged that Uzzal had been stalking her for long and raped her three months earlier.
