Militants threaten to take revenge

At-Tamkin, a mouthpiece for militant groups, has published a message on Tuesday threatening the law enforcement of Bangladesh and India.

The message was published just a day after policemen were attacked in Gulisthan area of Dhaka. Three were injured as crude bombs were hurled against them in front of Gulisthan Shopping Complex. In the midnight, international terrorist group ISIS published a statement on the Amaq website claiming the responsibility of the attack.

DMP (Dhaka Metropolitan Police) commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah went to visit the injured police members at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday. He said it was being scrutinised whether there were any militant motives behind the attacks.

The At-Tamkin message was written in Bangla, English and Hindi. A photo of the five militants who carried out an attack at Holey Artisan at Gulshan, Dhaka on 1 July 2016 was posted with the message.

"If you think you have silenced the soldiers of the Khilafa in Bengal and Hind and you are certain about that then listen we men are never to be silenced.. And are thirst for revenge is never to be faded away (sic)" Times of India quoted the message as saying.

The message was spread in the name of Abu Muhammad Al Bengali. Earlier, another message was published by At-Tamkin with this name.

Sources in the CTTC (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) unit of police in Dhaka earlier said that they got reports on Al Bengali being elected as the ISIS head in Bangladesh. This name appeared during the 17 October anti-militant drive in Narsingdi last year.
