Chattogram port resumes operations

Operations resumed at Chattogram sea port on Saturday afternoon after a 30-hour disruption caused by cyclonic storm Fani, reports UNB.

Normal cargo and containers handling started around 5:00pm, said Md Omar Faruk, secretary of Chattogram port authorities.

Loading and unloading of goods from vessels resumed in the evening, he added.

The weather office had announced danger level six for the port when cyclone Fani approached. It hit Bangladesh in the morning.

Fani has now weakened into a well-marked low over the Mymensingh-Netrokona region.
