A university student, missing since 12 May, was found dead in Kamarjuri area of Gazipur on Thursday, reports UNB.

Ismail Hossain Jisan, 24, a student of European University of Bangladesh, was the son of a certain Sabbir Hossain of Gazipur's Kathora.

Also used to work as a driver of a ridesharing service, Jisan had remained traceless since he accepted a trip from Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar to Gazipur, police said.

Two general diaries (GDs) were filed with Gacha and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police stations, said Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge of Gacha police station.

A joint team of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Gazipur police conducted a drive in Kamarjuri area and arrested one Hasibul Islam on Wednesday night. Hasibul had hired Jisan for the trip to Gazipur from Dhaka.

Police also recovered Jisan's mobile phone and motorbike from Hasibul's possession.

After interrogating him, police recovered Jisan's body from the septic tank of the house of one Jahangir in the morning.

The body was sent to a local hospital morgue for autopsy.
