Man shot dead in Gaibandha

A man, wanted by police in three cases, was shot dead at Dari Jamalpur in Sadullapur upazila on early Sunday.

The deceased was Shafiqul Islam Buda Mia, 55, son of Kafil Uddin of the village.

Arshedul Haq, officer-in-charge of Sadullapur police station, said criminals shot him when he was entering his grocery shop for passing the night there around 2:00am.

"He was killed on the spot," Haq said.

Buda was wanted in cases including that of robbery and stealing.

Police said they suspected that he might have been killed by his former comrades.
