Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) vice-president Nurul Haque Nur on Wednesday accused Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists of making an attempt on his life in Bogura.

"They're continuously attacking me as part of their plot to kill me since I got elected as DUCSU VP," Nur told the media at Madhur canteen at noon.

"In fact, they didn't accept their defeat in Ducsu polls and that's why they're attackingus," he said.

Bangladesh General Students' Rights Protection Council, a platform that led the quota reform movement, organised the briefing after an attack on Nur and other activists allegedly by BCL men.

"Chhatra League's attack on us during our Iftar programme shows that it has become a communal organisation," Nursaid.

The VP claimed that attacks were planned and demanded punishment of the attackers.

DUCSU social welfare affairs secretary Akhter Hossain, and the council's joint convener APM Suhel, among others, were present at the press conference.
