6 foreigners put on 3-day remand over ATM booth forgery

A Dhaka court today placed six Ukraine nationals on three-day remand for their alleged connection with recent ATM booth forgery, reports BSS.

Six foreigners- – Dennis Vitomeski, 20, Nazari Vojnok, 19, Valentine Sokolovski, 37, Sergei Ukrainetz, 33, Shevchuk Oleg, 46 and Valodimir Trushiniski, 37 – – were arrested by Detective Branch (DB) Police on Saturday.

Deputy commissioner of DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md Nurnabi told BSS that the arrested are nationals of Ukraine.

He said Dennis Vitomeski was arrested while withdrawing money from a booth of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited after hacking the system of the booth in the Khilgaon area here.

Later, five others were arrested from a city hotel at Panthapath.
