Man killed as wall collapses after blast

A man was killed and three others injured as a portion of a wall collapsed on them following an explosion in a building in the capital's Shanir Akhra on Monday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased was Farid Ahmed, 55, son of late A Jalil of Fulgazi in Feni while the injured were Kamal, 45, Saidul, 30 and Jakir, 35.

Kadamtali police station officer-in-charge Jamal Uddin Mir said the wall collapsed on a number of pedestrians following an explosion at Exim Bank's Dania branch located on the second floor of the building at 9:30am, leaving Farid, a cap trader, dead on the spot.

The first floor of the building was also partially damaged due to the blast.

The injured are now undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hosptial (DMCH).

Among the injured, Kamal was the manager of Haque Bakery and Sweets, said Rafi, a salesman of the bakery.
