ACC director Enamul suspended

Director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Khandaker Enamul Basir has been suspended temporarily on charges of allegedly taking bribe from deputy inspector general of police Mizanur Rahman.

Earlier, Mizanur Rahman was relieved of his duties on charges of committing violence against women.

ACC chairman Iqbal Mahmood said this to reporters at his office on Monday.

He also said a probe body was formed to investigate the alleged corruption against Enamul.

The body headed by ACC secretary Delwar Bakht was scheduled to submit the report today (Monday).

Iqbal Mahmood said Enamul will be sued if it is proved that he took bribe from DIG Mizanur Rahman.

The ACC started investigation against Mizanur Rahman for possessing illegal assests.

During the invetigation, ACC director Enamul Basir took Tk 4 million as bribe, alleged DIG Mizanur Rahman.
