Man hacked dead in Shariatpur

Map of ShariatpurA man was hacked to death allegedly by his rivals over previous enmity in Chandani village of Naria upazila in Shariatpur on Monday, reports

The deceased is Yakub Ali, 48, son of late Arshed Ali and local trader of Chandani village.

Bhojeswar Union Parishad chairman Nurul Haque said Yakub was on his way to Kalabagan area around 9:00am when a gang of miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons leaving him severely injured.

After the attack, the attackers fled while locals rushed Yakub to sadar hospital.

The physicians of sadar hospital referred Yakub to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) but on the way to Dhaka he succumbed to his wounds.

Officer-in-Charge of Naria police station AKM Manjurul Haque Akanda said the victim was killed over previous enmity and they are investigating the matter.
