A suspected rapist reportedly kidnapped a rape victim and her mother in remote Char Mojammel of Bhola on Sunday to conceal his crime, reports UNB.

A case was filed in connection with the abduction on Tuesday. Police have arrested suspected rapist Abdur Rob but the victim and her mother are still missing.

The victim's aunty Bibi Hazera said that Rob, char block leader of Kazikandi village, had been raping her niece for the last several months. He threatened her to drive out the family if she disclose the matter to anyone.

But at one point the 22-year-old victim, abandoned by her husband, became pregnant.

Rob and his cohorts kidnapped the victim and her mother Jorina Begum and confined her father Rafijal in the river island.

Tazumuddin police station officer-in-charge Faruk Ahmad said that they were trying to rescue the two women.

"Once the victim is rescued, a rape case will be filed after completing medical tests," he said.
