BNP leader Hassan Mamun picked up allegedly by RAB

Hassan MamunBNP leader Hassan Mamun was picked up by a team of law enforcers in plainclothes from his Shantinagar residence on Saturday night, alleged his family.

The law enforcers, however, denied the allegation of detaining him.

Hassan Mamun is a central committee member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, also former president of Dhaka University's Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) unit.

Issuing a press statement on Sunday, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir condemned the detention of Hassan Mamun saying, "Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) picked up Mamun."

He also demanded Hassan Mamun's safe return to his family.
