Woman murdered ‘after rape’Police said they suspect a woman found dead in Mohonpur upazila of Rajshahi on Saturday morning was raped before she was killed, reports UNB.

Body of the victim, Asma Begum, 40, was found by two children who were herding cattle in the area.

"There were bruises on her face and legs," UNB quoted officer-in-charge of Mohonpur police station, Mostak Ahmed, as saying.

“We suspect that Asma was hacked to death after rape," the police officer added.

The body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

Asma was married to Babul Islam of Oshaer Hatra village of the upazila.
