Sixth grader girl ‘raped’

A student of grade VI was allegedly raped by her distant relative in Naragati upazila of Narail on Wednesday.

The accused, who was called 'uncle' by the victim, is Samed Molla, 30, from village Mauli in the upazila.

Alamgir Kabir, officer-in-charge of Naragati police station, said the victim is a student of Chander Char-Panchagram secondary school of the area.

The victim said, around 11:00am Wednesday, Samed came to her school and called her out.

She attempted to return her class as she was afraid of him. But Samed forcefully took her to a nearby jute field and raped her after gagging.

As he fled the spot, the victim returned to the school and disclosed the matter to her teachers.

Being informed, police went to the spot and took the girl into police custody.

A case has been filed in this regard. Law enforcers are trying to arrest the accused, said the OC.
