Road crash kills 2 mango traders

Map of ChapainawabganjTwo mango traders were killed and three other people injured in a road crash in Godagari of Rajshahi early Thursday.

A Rajshahi-bound mango-laden truck from Chapainawabganj overturned and fell into a ditch in Kamarpara area of Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway as the driver lost control over the steering around 5:00am, witnesses said.

Nuruzzaman, 50, from Boukhali village and Ayub Khan, 50, from Padmapukur of Jhikargachha upazila of Jashore were killed at the scene, police said.

The truck driver also sustained injuries in the accident. He along with the other injured were rescued and admitted to a local hospital by the fire service men.

The truck was seized and the bodies would be sent to morgue, Godagari Model police station officer-in-charge Jahangir Alam said adding, a case might be filed in this connection.
