Motorcyclist, pillion rider killed in Gopalganj

A motorcyclist and his pillion rider were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Chaptai of Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj on Friday, reports UNB.

The deceased were Saddam, 30, son of Tara Ali of Lohagara upazila in Narail; and Monir Miah, 22, son of Pakhi Mia of the same area.

Quoting locals, Kashiani police station's sub-inspector Junayed said they were wounded after their motorcycle collided head-on with a microbus.

Locals took them to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex where the physicians pronounced them dead.

The microbus driver could not be apprehended, the SI said, adding that the motorcycle was not registered.
