Man arrested for ‘raping 6-year-girl’

A man, accused of raping a child, was arrested on early Saturday from Jhikorgachha in Jashore, reports UNB.

The arrested person is Abdul Malek, 50, of Harinakundu upazila in Jhenidah.

Chuadanga additional police superintendent Kanailal Sarkar said the suspect was arrested from Noali village of Jhikorgachha based on information from police's Detective Branch.

"Abdul Malek lured the six-year-old girl with chocolate and took her to a house and raped her on Wednesday," ASP added.

ASP Kanailal said Malek was on the run after the victim's mother filed a case at Chuadanga Sadar police station.
