The newly promoted minister and newly appointed state minister will take oath at Bangabhaban on Saturday evening.

“All necessary preparations have been completed to hold the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet members at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban at 7:30 pm,” BSS quoted president’s press secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin as saying.

Earlier, cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam said a state minister was promoted to full minister and a new state minister was appointed to the cabinet.

He said the oath taking will be held on Saturday evening.

Awami League women affairs secretary Fazilatunnesa Indira was made state minister.

The state minister for expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment, Imran Ahmed, was promoted to the full minister.

Earlier, a minor change was made in the cabinet in May.

In the first reshuffle in the cabinet since its formation on 7 January 2019, two ministers and three state ministers were given new charges, reports UNB.

Posts, telecommunications and information technology minister Mustafa Jabbar ws made minister for the posts and telecommunications division while state minister for information and communications technology division Zunaid Ahmed Palak got the responsibility of information and technology division as state minister.

State minister for health and family welfare Murad Hassan was made state minister for the information ministry.

Local government, rural development and cooperatives minister Tajul Islam was made the minister for local government division while state minister for local government, rural development and co-operatives Shawpan Bhattacharjee was made the state minister for rural development and cooperatives division.
