Six bodies recovered from Narayanganj in 12 hours

Police recovered six bodies from Narayanganj district between early Tuesday and noon, reports news agency UNB.

Five of the deceased are identified as -- Mishor Shikder, 25, of Kataikhali in Bandar Upazila; Barek Mia; Shefali begum, 42; Syed Ahmed, 17, and Suruj Mia, 38.

Bandar police station sub-inspector Azharul Islam said Mishor took a mobile phone as security for Tk 500 from Mithu.

Later, Mithu and several others stabbed Mishor early Tuesday in Noarda area. Locals took Mishor to a clinic where physicians pronounced him dead.

Police arrested Mithu, Munna, Sakib, Jisan after a case was filed in connection with the murder, the SI added.

In another incident, the body of Barek Mia, an auto-rickshaw driver, was recovered from Balur Math area of Bandar upazila.

The cause of his death could not be known immediately, said the SI.

Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Araihajar police station, said Suruj Mia was killed in a feud over land at Bagdi City Market of Fatehpur Union around 6:00am.

Meanwhile, two bodies, including that of a woman, were recovered from the sadar upazila.

Shefali Begum's decomposed body was recovered from Lal Khan area of Fatullah three days after she had gone missing.

Police said the cause of Syed Ahmed's death could not be ascertained yet.

Hasanuzzaman, sub-inspector of Fatullah Model police station, said Shefali used to sell vegetables.

Police recovered her decomposed body after being informed by locals. It was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.

Inspector HM Jashim Uddin of Siddhirganj police station said they recovered the body of an unidentified youth from Siddhirganj.

Neither the cause of the death, nor the identity of the victim could be known yet.
