16 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims die in Saudi so far

A total of 16 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims have died of various reasons in Saudi Arabia as of Thursday, reports UNB.

Of them, 14 were males and two females, according to a bulletin of the Bangladesh Hajj Management Portal under the religious affairs ministry.

The bulletin said 13 pilgrims died in Makkah while two in Medina and one in Jeddah.

The latest recorded death was of Fayez Ullah, 65, from Cumilla district. He died in Makkah on Thursday.

According to the bulletin, a total of 85,811 Bangladeshi pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia till Thursday to perform hajj.

Of them, 81,207 went to Saudi Arabia under private management while 4,604 under government arrangement.
