Bangladesh Election Commission will launch a pilot programme over the registration of Bangladeshi-British citizens on the voter list in December next.
The pilot programme will be implemented under the supervision of Bangladesh high commission in London.
The issue was discussed at a recent meeting between an EC delegation and Bangladesh community in London, said the high commission on Thursday, reports news agency UNB.
Bangladesh high commissioner to London Saida Muna Tasneem presided over the meeting arranged by the Bangladesh mission in London.
The high commission will provide necessary support to the election commission to accomplish the registration process of voters.
Election commissioner Rafiqul Islam shared about the registration procedure and distribution of national identity cards to the expatriate Bangladeshis.
He said a technical team of the EC will visit London in December to take photographs, fingerprints and accomplish other related activities.
Leaders of different professions and classes of the Bangladeshi-British community participated in the meeting.
