7 more diagnosed with dengue in Bagerhat

Seven more dengue cases were reported in the district in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

Civil Surgeon AKM Shamsuzzaman said they have so far recorded 73 dengue cases. Eight dengue patients are currently undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Most of them came from Dhaka.

He said hospitals in the district are providing free dengue tests. They are also raising mass awareness to tackle the situation.

The government has so far confirmed 40 deaths.

In 24 hours till Wednesday morning, 1,880 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals. During the same period on Tuesday, 1,200 patients were hospitalised.

Since January, 43,271 people were admitted to hospitals with dengue, according to the Directorate General of Health Services. Of them, 35,225 made complete recovery.
