Seven people were killed and 20 others injured in a road accident in Feni Sadar Upazila’s Lemua on Thursday morning.
Two of the victims were named Sujan Mia, 40, from Bikrampur upazila and Shahadat from Chhagalnaiya upazila. The identities of the other deceased could not be traced yet.
Quoting Nurunnabi, superintendent of Feni police, UNB said the accident took place around 5:45am.
“A Cox’s Bazar-bound picnic bus of ‘Prime Paribahan’ from Dhaka hit a roadside tree, leaving six people dead on the spot,” UNB quoted the policeman as saying.
According to hospital and police sources, two of the victims died on the spot while another three died under treatment at Feni Sadar Hospital.
Sub-inspector of Mohipal highway police station, Md Kawser Mia, confirmed the death of seven people and said 10 among the wounded were sent to Dhaka.
