An investigation committee was formed on Thursday to look into Wednesday night’s fire at a plastic factory in Lalbagh, reports UNB.

The three-member committee has been asked to submit its report within seven working days, said fire service’s warehouse inspector Atiqul Alam.

Fire Service and Civil Defence’s deputy director Dilip Ghosh is heading the committee. The other members are — assistant commissioner Abdul Halim and deputy director Newton Das.

A fire broke out at a plastic factory on Water Works Road in Posta area just after 10:30pm on Wednesday.

Sixteen firefighting units brought the fire under control around 1:00am but it took them another three hours to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire and extent of damage could not be known yet.
