Female teacher killed after gang rape: Court

Two cable workers killed Joyonti Chokrovorty, assistant teacher of Shologhor Government Primary School allegedly after raping her in Chandpur town, it was revealed on Sunday, reports UNB.

The accused linemen Jamal Hossain, 28, and Mohajon Anisur Rahman, 32, gave confessional statement in the court saying that they killed the teacher after gang-raping her.

Police said that on 21 July afternoon, dish linemen Jamal Hossain and Mohajon Anisur Rahman, after raping teacher Joyonti Chokrovorty, wife of Water Development Board's accounts assistant Olok Goshwami, killed her with sharp weapon at the kitchen.

On the next day, Olok Goshwami lodged a murder case with Chandpur model police station accusing unknown people under clause 302/34.

On that day Olok and his son and daughter were not present at their residence, everyone were in Dhaka. Finding her alone Anis started to scuffle with Joyonti in a bid to rape her. Later both of them including Jamal started to drag her. At one stage after she fell on the floor, they gang-raped her repeatedly.

Later they brought out a sharp weapon from the rack and throttled the teacher to death. Finally the culprits tried to destroy the evidence of rape by washing the blood-stained knife with water before fleeing from the spot.

The information was revealed to the newsmen at a press briefing at PBI Chandpur district office at Wireless Bazar intersection on Sunday afternoon. PBI Chattogram special police superintendent M Iqbal highlighted the information of the sensational teacher killing.

On 24 July, Anup Chokrovorty, IO of the case SI of Chandpur model police station, detained Jamal Hossain from his residence in Shologhor Hotel Al-Rashida and Anisur Rahman from a house opposite to Shologhor Pucca mosque suspecting their involvement with the incident.
