Father, 8-year-old son found dead

Police recovered the bodies of a man and his son from Tongi of Gazipur early Wednesday.

The deceased were Md. Abdul Halim and his eight-year-old son Mohammad Noman.

According to the police, it raised suspicions regarding the actual reason of death given the state the bodies were found from the spot.

According to police and locals, Halim, originally from Bateshwar of Narsingdi, was a spice seller and lived with his family on the fifth floor of a house in Hazibari area of Tongi.

Around 3:00am on Wednesday, neighbours ran to Halim’s house as they heard his wife Isnahar screaming.

They found Noman lying motionless on the floor while Halim was hanging strangled with the grill of balcony.

Police recovered the bodies, said Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Tongi (east) police station, adding that they sent those to the morgue for autopsy.
