Minor boy stabbed in Dhaka

A minor boy sustained injuries as a youth stabbed him at Shyampur in the city on Thursday afternoon, reports UNB.

Police detained the attacker, Imran Hossain 23, soon after the incident.

Victim's relative Sabina Yasmin said Tariqul Islam, 10, came to visit her house at Mazar Goli around 2pm.

Suddenly, Imran approached him in front of the house, swooped on him and stabbed him indiscriminately, she said.

The victim was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where his condition was stated to be critical.

Contacted, officer-in-charge of Shyampur police station Mizanur Rahman said they arrested Imran soon after incident. "The reason behind the incident is yet to be known but the youth might have been a drug addict."
