Rangpur by-polls: AL aspirants asked to collect forms

Awami League on Sunday asked its aspirants to collect nomination forms by 4 September to contest the by-election to Rangpur-3 constituency to be held on 5 October, reports UNB.

The aspirants can collect the nomination form from 10:00am to 5:00pm on 2-4 September from AL president's Dhanmondi political office in the city.

The aspirants can submit the nomination form at the same office by 5:00pm on 5 September, said an AL release signed by its office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap.

The election commission on Sunday announced the by-polls schedule for the Rangpur-3 that fell vacant following the death of Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad on 14 July.

As per the schedule, the deadline for submission of nomination papers is 9 September while the date for scrutinising those is 11 September and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is 16 September.
