BNP leader Mozaffar dies

Rangpur city Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) president Mozaffar Hossain died of a cardiac arrest in Rangpur on Sunday night.
He was 68.

Mozaffar, also small and cottage industry affairs secretary of central BNP and a freedom fighter, suffered a cardiac arrest around 9:00pm while returning home after attending a programme marking the founding anniversary of the party, said city BNP general secretary Shahidul Islam.

He left behind wife, one son, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Meanwhile, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock at the sudden demise of Mozaffar.

In separate condolence messages, they prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to bereaved family members.
