No note containing PM Hasina’s portrait printed: BB

Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday said it has not issued any new currency note of Tk 100, containing the portrait of prime minister Sheikh Hasina, reports UNB.

“No initiative was taken by the Bangladesh Bank to print any Tk 100 note which contains a portrait of prime minister Sheikh Hasina on the front and image of Bangabandhu Satellite on the back,” the central bank said in a statement.

It said information about such a note was being circulated from a number of Facebook IDs and other social media accounts. The fake reports were also being shared by some respected personalities.

“It’s misleading and baseless,” Bangladesh Bank said.

The central bank also requested the law enforcement to take action against those misleading the people.
