AL delegation arrives in China

A high-level 20-member delegation of Bangladesh Awami League, led by AL Presidium Member and Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Matin Khasru, arrived here today at the invitation of Communist Party of China (CPC).

CPC leaders and Director of Protocol and Information of Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Gao Yan gave a hearty welcome to the AL delegation upon their arrival at Nanjing Lukou International Airport via Guangzhou. Later, they were received with flower bouquets at the Shangri-La Hotel Nanjing where they will be staying during their visit here.

The AL delegation will pass a busy day on Thursday as they would visit the Party School of CPC Jiangsu Committee and witness a presentation and exchange views on CPC’s efforts on strengthening governance capacity.
Later, the AL delegation will visit Lingzhou Chamber and witness a presentation on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
The delegation will then have formal meeting with Jiangsu officials which will be followed by a welcome dinner.
On Friday, the delegation members would visit the Nanjing Jiangning Development Zone, Nanjing Government Affairs Service Center and Nanjing Traffic Control Center and would be briefed about their operations.
On the following day on 7 September, the AL delegation would visit the 14th century Nanjing City Wall before departing for Zunyi later in the afternoon.
Earlier on Monday, AL Presidium Member Abdul Matin Khasru said during this tour, the AL delegation would meet CPC leaders and discuss on various issues where the Rohingya crisis and their repatriation to Myanmar will come up for discussion.
Abdul Matin Khasru said this while addressing a press conference at the Bangladesh Awami League’s party chief Sheikh Hasina’s office at Dhanmondi-3 ahead of the AL delegation’s eight-day tour to China from 4-11 September, 2019.
