2 fish farmers killed in Meherpur

Two fish farmers were stabbed dead at village Darbeshpur of Meherpur Sadar upazila on Wednesday night, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Rokonuzzaman, 36, and Hasan Ali, 42, from the village.

The incident took place at Soilmari water body which they had taken on lease for fish farmin, UNB reports superintendent of Meherpur police SM Murad Ali as saying quoting the locals.

They went there around 11:30pm when a group of men attacked them. The two men died on the spot after being stabbed indiscriminately, the police officer reportedly said.

The bodies were reportedly sent to a local hospital for autopsy.
