A Dhaka court on Saturday put Kalabagan Krira Chakra president Safiqul Alam Firoz on a 10-day remand -- five-day each in two cases filed under narcotics control and arms acts, reports UNB.

Judge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Mahmuda Aktar, passed the order when investigation officers of the cases produced him before her court seeking a 10-day remand for him in the two cases each.

The cases were filed against Safiqul Alam in the morning.

On Friday, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained five people, including Safiqul Alam, and recovered a pistol and yaba pills from the Krira Chakra club office in Kalabagan area in the capital.

Safiqul Alam is a former member of Krishak League’s central committee. Krishak League is an associate body of ruling Awami League.

During the raid, RAB said, they also recovered coins used in gambling, 572 packets of cards and bullets.
