Jubo League leader arrested for ‘raping’ teenage girl

Police on Saturday night arrested a local leader of Jubo League, youth wing of ruling party, as he allegedly raped a teenage girl in Kalachandpur village on Manikganj's Ghior upazila, reports UNB.

Jubo League is the youth front of ruling Awami League.

The detainee was Quamrul Hasan Kamal, a Jubo League leader of Ghior upazila unit.

Asharaful Islam, officer-in-charge of Ghior police station, said that Kamal developed a good relation with the victim’s family after he proposed to marry the victim’s elder sister.

He used to travel different areas with the victim with her family’s consent.

Kamal took the girl to a hotel of the capital two months back where he allegedly raped the victim and recorded indecent video footage of her.

Later, he started raping the girl frequently threatening to leak the video clip on the internet.

The victim’s father filed the case on Saturday after he noticed the video already disclosed on the internet by Kamal.
