Two girls, including a mentally challenged one, have reportedly been raped in Rajshahi and Jamalpur, reports UNB.

In Rajshahi, the mentally challenged girl was 'raped' by a youth at Berpara village of Poba upazila early Thursday.

Police arrested the accused, Asadul, 25, and his four associates -- Dukhu, 35, Bairul, 33, Sajib, 24, and Sakim, 26 -- in the morning over the incident.

All of them are cattle traders hailing from Durgapur village of Bholahat upazila in Chapainawabganj.

A case was filed against them.

The victim was sent to the One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for medical test.

In Jamalpur, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth, Sohel, 22, son of Tahsan of Hatchandra village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

Victim's brother alleged that Sohel violated the girl when she was alone at the house and threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed it to anyone.

The girl's mother took her to general hospital after she fell sick.

Salemuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said victim's brother filed a case against Sohel on Thursday.

Police are trying to arrest the accused, the OC added.
