2 DU teachers terminated

The authorities of Dhaka University (DU) has terminated its two teachers for not joining work after expiry of their study leave tenure, UNB reports. 


The terminated teachers are – Nafiz Zaman, assistant professor of information science and library management department, and Md Ahsanul Akbar, assistant professor of clinical pharmacy and pharmacology department.

The decision was taken on Sunday at a meeting of the DU syndicate, the highest decision making body of the university, with DU Vice-Chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair, UNB says.

Confirming the matter, associate professor Humayun Kabir, a syndicate member, said they have been terminated from their post as they did not join work after the end of their study leaving tenure.
