Madrasa girl ‘raped’ by teacher

A madrasa girl has allegedly been raped by her teacher in Manirampur upazila of Jashore, reports UNB.

The accused was identified as Tariqul Islam, a teacher of Manirampur Mohila Dakhil Madrasa. He went into hiding after the incident that alleged incident on Monday.

Angry locals attacked the madrasa on Thursday and beat another teacher Nazrul Islam who abetted the rape and confined the madrasa super demanding justice for the victim.

Locals said madrasa authorities started coaching for 15-17 Dakhil examinees about 15-20 days ago. On Monday, Tariqul with the help of Nazrul 'raped' the girl and left the place leaving her senseless in the madrasa toilet.

Family members started searching for the victim as she did not return home and found her lying in the madrasa toilet around 8:00pm on the day when she was bleeding.

The victim was later taken to Jashore General Hospital around 2:00am on Tuesday. She narrated the incident to her parents after coming back home on Wednesday.

Shikder Matiar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Manirampur police station, said police rescued the victim and brought her to the police station.

Assistant Superintendent of police (Manirampur circle) Rakib Hasan said a case was filed in this regard.
