Expelled Jubo League Dhaka south unit president Ismail Hossain Samrat was admitted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in the capital on Tuesday, reports UNB.

Hospital sources said Samrat was undergoing treatment at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the hospital until filing of the report.

A three-member medical board, headed by director the hospital Afzalur Rahman, was formed for his treatment.

The authorities of Keraniganj jail took Samrat to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 7:00am after he complained of chest pain.

Later, he was shifted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Samrat and one of his associates Arman, also vice president of Dhaka south unit Jubo League, from Chauddagram upazila in Cumilla on 6 October.

A mobile court, led by RAB executive magistrate SarwarAlam, sentenced Samrat to six months’ imprisonment under the Wildlife Conservation Act after the law enforcement recovered two hides of kangaroo from his Kakrail office in the capital.

He was then sent to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj on that day.
