Gas cylinder explosion kills 2

Two young men were killed in a gas cylinder explosion at Srirampur village in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria early Wednesday, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Bayezid Mia, 18, and Alamgir Hossain, 20, of the village.

Ranjit Roy, officer-in-charge of Nabinagar police station, said the incident took place at a tea stall around 3:00am.

“A fire broke out after the gas cylinder exploded, killing two people on the spot,” he said. “The victims were sleeping at the tea stall when the cylinder exploded.”

Locals and policemen rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to a local hospital morgue for autopsy.
