Pregnant woman, daughter killed in Tangail

A pregnant woman and her minor daughter have been murdered at her home in Tangail municipality area, reports UNB.

The deceased are Lucky Begum, 22, seven months pregnant wife of certain Al Amin, and their daughter Alifa, 4, of Bhalukkandi in the municipality.

Al Amin who runs a top-up shop at Asad Market near their house found the body of his daughter at the entrance of the house when he returned home around 12:30am on Sunday, said police. Later, he approached the house only to find his wife dead.

On information, police rushed in, recovered the bodies and sent those to General Hospital morgue for autopsy, said officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station Mosharraf Hossain.

He said Alifa’s throat was slit while Lucky was stabbed.
“The reason behind the double murders is not clear. We’re investigating it,” he said.
