Mother killed, son injured in Dhaka road crash

A woman was killed and her son was injured in a road accident at Kakrail crossing on Sunday morning, reports UNB.

Police identified the victims as Masuda Begum, 35, and her son Mahin Ahmed, hailing from Barishal.

Masuda was killed on the spot when their rickshaw was hit by a covered van around 7:00am, said sub-inspector Habibur Rahman of Ramna police station.

They were returning to their Moghbazar residence from Sadarghat.

Mahin, injured in the accident, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The covered van driver could not be apprehended.
